Home Targeted In Burglary While Resident Is Vacationing
After vacationing, a local man returned to his home Friday to find that numerous items had gone missing in his absence.
The sixty-eight year old resident of Beasley Road reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that he had returned after a week-long trip to find that his Husqvarna chainsaw was missing from his outbuilding.
The victim said that this prompted him to examine his home. He soon found that numerous items were missing including several pocket knives, medications, several items of jewelry, and a Savage 20 gauge, single shot shotgun. He estimated his loss to be around $1,200.
No sign of forced entry was found. The case currently remains under investigation.
